  Ned had been working in the optics industry for nearly 10 years at Hughes Aircraft, Kaiser Electro-Optics and Microvision primarily on DoD and civil space systems when the telecom start-up boom struck Seattle. Seeing that there were more ‘positions available’ than qualified bodies to fill them, SPA was formed. In 2004 Ned met a senior optical engineer, Mark Schwarz. Mark’s optical systems experience and expertise in stray light analysis complemented the capabilities then currently available at SPA and Mark was hired on in 2006. Since then, Ned and Mark have worked closely with a small but dynamic group to fill a few other needs within the optical systems design and analysis community, including: mechanical engineering, optical lab technician and analytical optical modeling. |
