Augmented Reality

One of the core competencies of Seattle Photonics is designing and prototyping systems for Augmented Reality applications. Our experience with these systems includes many different design forms and different optical architectures. We’ve worked closely with the development teams for several corporate leaders in the field to assist them with their design trade-off, optical design and analysis. We’ve prototyped many of these systems for our clients as well. Some of the optical architectures we’re familiar with include reflective systems, catadioptric systems, diffractive and waveguide systems that have projection or scanned beam image sources. With our experience also comes the understanding of the anthropometric requirements of such systems, including minimizing mass, maximizing eyebox sizes and keeping optical efficiency as high as possible.
